Excuse me ? I initiated this thread !
I am perfectly aware of this fact. You wrote the first mail and were
absent several weeks. Serge Marelli already wrote things about helpdesk
support on 17-07-2004 15:18 on "your thread". The same arguments you
warmed up weeks later. The fact that you wrote the first mail doesn't
change a thing to the fact that you must have skipped some mails.
I'm not interested in wet your appetite. Just go
to whatever ISP you
want. I just gave an accurate information -as far as I know- which is
I just wanted to ask a basic question. Every Linux user who has
experience with helldesks will feel the same way. I simply want to be
able to report a network problem to the ISP without reinstalling all
Windows drivers I don't have (or Linux drivers if I have a router). I do
not need a helpdesk. But ISPs have no special phone number to report
problems directly to their administrators, they just have helpdesks.
Those helpdesks have checklists which drive people crazy who just want
to give the ISP a problem report.
There was no need to explain that they do not have a helpdesk to help me
with non ISP problems. This was superfluous at best.
There were only 3 possible answers:
1. Yes, they have a checklist, where everybody without Linux fall
through before they can even report a problem
2. They are able to take problem reports without sucking
3. I don't know
One of these 3 answers would have given me satisfaction immediately. But
instead I have to lose time!
