getting feedback from people. I tend to believe that the best solution
would be a dual-license model, such as GPL and a commercial license,
because people should also have the right to develop closed-source
applications with Obix.
What about dual-licensing ?
In the file attached you can find an article I wrote
in 2004. It is a
bit outdated, but it explains my main thoughts about licensing.
I'll try to
find some time to read it.
Maybe you should release the implementation under GPL but keep control
of the definition of the language, as Sun does regarding Java ? (They
specify what Java is but you are free to implement it the way you want).

Obix is currently not free software as defined by 'The Free Software
Definition' on www.fsf.org.
The reason is that Obix is currently still in an alpha state, and
not ready yet to develop real-world applications.
My intention is to release Obix in the near future under GPL3 (or a
similar 'free software' license), or under a dual license model
(GPL3 and a commercial license).
I admit that I have no experience with software licenses, and I

The current, temporary license allows people to dowload Obix free of
