i suppose it's a modem from coditel ?
i'm a coditel customer myself too.
so i have the same one...
the modem has only one mac.
it should be printed on a sticker, which is on top or at the bottom of the
modem.
it should as well be printed on the contract.
the mac may be found out by the methods described before.
using tcpdump you can even see non-inet-routable traffic, so even if the modem
had a second mac, you would be able to find it out.
i only now thought about the sticker etc... :-) sorry

i'm not 100% sure, but think that the modem

Wouldn't that depend on the exact make of the modem?
i know... but see expl. above
At least, I know that for Wifi access points, some
brands use a
different Mac for their ethernet connector than for the wireless
interface, whereas other brands use twice the same.
If the cable modem uses a different Mac for its cable
interface, it
might indeed be somewhat hard to find out, unless it is printed
somewhere on the modem or in its documentation.
i'm sure it only has one.
and even if it had two, the one printed on the modem and on the contract would
be the "outside" mac... because that's the one coditel needs to know (and
might ask for).
(for tftp, etc)
